Anyone who has watched this program, and who cares about the accuracy of the information they receive, should also watch: /watch?v=ayjOW5DnwgM&feature=c hannel Finally someone has taken the time to put all the flaws in a neat little video package, so that even people who cant be bothered sourcing the info themselves can still be educated.
off the top of my head i do not know the degree of deflection,, however you assume too much becasue the columns original structure was 20mm with the modded section being 18mm and the collumn was 60-70% snapped already before impact. so yeah quit assuming!
Okay, it was 15mm allowed in the design specs for the original, unmodified column, but that was thrown out the window when they spliced in the smaller and thinner piece. The incar recorded deflection up to 28mm just before Senna went off, with the focal point of all the stress on the modification. But is any of this analysed in this show? No, they disregard this entire body of evidence, not even mentioned.
Or better still, take the video off. You who are sucked in by this lie and perpetuate it by uploading this program are puppets for the dishonourable cowards who still to this day hide away from the truth like frightened little children. The steering column broke, it was proved by the investigation, and frankly its as obvious as day for anyone with half a brain and willing to make some effort to find out the facts.
and you who are so ready to believe everything you are told "by experts", are living a life of passivness in that you are willing to believe anything you hear"from experts". personal analyzation is what allows you to better understand the world around you. whether im right or wrong its my personal opinion. and i honestly believe that there is more than meets the eye to everything, and that many can see what they are willing to see. not what is. reality is the perception you have of your world.
Point taken pal, I agree with most of what you said. Introspection is the key, so ask yourself, have you really put in the effort required to take in all of the different aspects of the case and make an informed opinion? I doubt it. Many people who have held the opinion that this show is accurate, including myself, have flaked very quickly when they discover the real details of the case.
For example, I bet you can not tell me the degree of flex allowed in the design of the steering column, and the degree of flex observed. Or the extent and severity of the stress crack found to have worked into the column before it snapped. Or the difference in diameter and thickness of the added peice of tube compared to the existing column. I bet you dont know. But these are critical facts.
