@nico3641 You should wear some compression underwear to keep your "stuff" close to your body and you have to just get your technique solid. Good technique will mean you really have no chance of smashing your stuff, although if you hip thrust too hard and too hight up on your thighs you could possible hit the bar with your junk.

Well checkout where the bar is when your standing and it's at a dead hang. For me, the bar sits high on the thigh, below my crotch area. Doubt your going to hit yourself haha.

As a man, how do you make sure that you don't injure the crotch area (jewels) when you put the hip power move and the bar is right at the crotch level? For myself, I've noticed that I hesitate and deliver a very weak hip thrust because I fear slamming the crotch. Any advice? Should I thrust the hip when the bar is still at the height of the thigh and below the crotch? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Not letting the grip go will not let the barbell rest on your shoulders. If you don't let the grip go, the weight will end up resting on your wrists and you could injure yourself that way
