I think that how children are raised begin by having a strong foundation. If your parenting is not built on that foundation, then you can't build back up what falls. Parents are either beating their children but not taking the time to teach them or they're trying to be their child's friend. You don't know how people will do their friends these days?!

LOL!! I can't believe how parents let their toddlers talk snotty to them and scream in their faces!! I can't believe what I'm seeing nowadays! My niece's little two year old literally screamed in my face, "NO!!!" and almost broke my ear drum!! I said to her, "WHO ARE YOU TALKIN' TO?!!" "DON'T YOU EVER TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!!" My dad wore my ass out as a child and it still didn't work lol. I did what I wanted to do (I got beat for mischief nothing serious), but the reason I didn't listen was because the beatings for me made me respect my dad less. I could have been reasoned with or talked to instead of being hit or cursed at. I'm 20 years old and I still have the mindset of not ever wanting to hit my kids how I was hit.

Belt? My mom used a wooden brush. I'm 16 now, and I know better. My mom kept me and my sisters in check when we were younger. And my mom still makes sure we stay in check now that were older.
