  • den milo ellinika poly omos i ekpompi einai apo tin Anglia. The Greeks have a word for it: Rommiossini einai ta onomata tis ekompompis. To Video eki einai olous yia Theodorakis apo tin ekpompi. (sorry if that is really bad greek )

  • This is Mikis Theodorakis is from Grecee not from England and that video is from Grecee because here it was take place.Romiosini is from Grecee not from England!!!!!!!!!!That English people take that from Grecee.

  • Nobody is saying that Theodorakis is not from Greece, ofcourse he is. This however is a documentary made in England. I am pretty sure that the fragment from the Lianotragouda and O Epizon were not filmed in Greece but abroad somewhere between 1973 and 74 when Theodorakis was exiled because of the Junta regime in Greece.

  • This is a terrific upload. You can tell that Theodorakis and Farantouri believe and feel very deeply every word they sing. We simply do not see passion like this anymore.

    For me, a Brit with a deep-rooted love of all things Greek, most especially music, it truly is a joy to see a British-made documentary concerning these icons of Greece. I hope there is more from it out there.

  • Από διανοητική υστέρηση πάσχεις, Mriroza, και δεν καταλαβαίνεις τι σου λένε; Ο άνθρωπος είναι γνωστός τραγουδιστής της όπερας, λατρεύει τον Θεοδωράκη και την ελληνική μουσική, ανεβάζει σπανιότατο υλικό στο YouTube κι εσύ όπως πας θα τον βγάλεις και... ανθέλληνα. Δηλαδή, έλεος, πόσο μαλάκας μπορεί να είναι κάποιος;

  • I Emena stin Ellatha 1970-1974. Eimai Amerikanitha. Kai thimamai... if you sang the songs of Mikis Theodorakis in the village streets or the streets of Athens you would be arrested. I was young, in my twenties, ignorant. I learned that the Americans had much to do with the Colonels being in power. I learned from the Greeks courage, humor, and hospitality. Efcharisto.

  • Stupid communists in 1974 they should have hanged Caramanlis and these communist traitors like Theodorakis.
