This is a 'smoke test' of the upcoming Shoot 1UP release for the Windows Phone 7 platform. We're currently targeting to release the game with the launch of the phone. This is a port of the popular shoot em up released February 2010 on the XBL Indie Games channel.

Check out this GAMEPLAY video for what the final game looks like on the Xbox 360: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-JQx3gD9oM

The test loads all game art appropriately and constantly loops the game to check for any memory leaks. The computer randomly positions the ships, fights enemies, and goes through menus, all at 10x speed. The actual level lengths are much shorter (the number of waves is lower than the final game) but the unique enemies per level is accurate.

The graphics in the final game will improve and be uniquely tuned for the Windows Phone 7, in addition to a special game play modes just for that platform, and a new playable ship.

Music: Original track is by Hamdija Ajanovic for the Xbox version of Shoot 1UP, though it's sped up here for the video.

  • Ah... Sad to hear tht, just bought it from Xbox indie games, like it, can't imagine if I can play this in my phone, would be awesome. Will buy if u release it in winphone 7 with same price.

  • @iceb0ys Won't be the same price, but it will have some very cool phone-specific features. Hope you check it out anyway, though again, it will be a while before it's out. Really glad you like the XBLIG version!

  • still couldnt find in marketplace ? im in singapore...

  • @iceb0ys It's not quite out yet, we're still working on it. (I know it takes forever, but we actually had to switch projects. We're hopeful to switch back to this and finish it in a few months.)

  • Nathan, how do you capture?

  • @matthewdoucette We captured that on a mac laptop, with whatever capturey software was there (other programmer captured--I can find out if you have a mac).

Otherwise, I bought a license to Fraps and use it for PC captures. Works fine.

  • @MommysBestGames we have fraps (but slow pcs! lol). thanks!

  • @jrdevteach You mean iPhone developers can mooch off of developers developing real content for a real Smartphone such as the Windows Phone 7?

I would NEVER have suspected that from an iPhone developer ever!!! (sarcasm)

  • @Hanagigi I know, I know, but trust me--if we get this special certain ship type working, it will only work on WP7 and will be really freaking cool! (Wouldn't really work on the 360--maybe with Kinect? haha)
