For my final Irish story, I visit Cahersiveen where there are some Stone Forts that may well been the home of my Shea ancestors. I also revisit Knocknabar Mountain, where on an earlier trip to Ireland I heard an interesting story about Celtic traditions and lost sheepdogs.

  • I am a Shea too, think my family came from there. Do you know how I could get in touch with Bryan O'Shea.

Like the video cant wait to go there in person.

  • @kathf322 Best way to contact Bryan is via osheaclan website

Can also do the DNA test Kath, best of luck

  • I 'm a local and its Knocnadtobar not Knocnabar - Knock = hill Na = of the Dtobar = Well i.e hill of the wells (as in springs).

  • Thanks for info Tip. Believe it or not, I have met a chef in Melbourne whose family came from around the area. So I even have the correct pronunciation :) Will make changes for my Ireland dvd

  • u climbed knocknabar...no way!!! :)

  • I just love Ireland and everything Irish. I know I am not from Ireland and I guess I'm a plastic paddy. But I truly love Ireland been twice I could go a billion times if only I had that much time. I don't know the country side the people the stories the people tell about the country side. God there isn't a better story teller then a person thats Irish. I'm sorry I'm not trying to sound like I know everything cause honestly I don't know anything. All I do know is I hope I can die in Ireland.
