LOL - Wait till the wave wipes out your mic. Best to get a Deadcat "Furry" for your mic instead. Take it from a pro who shoots Waves for a living. And never put your gear on the sand near the waves.

Mate, that is really great until you have a kid run all over your microphone and it is either damaged or full of sand.

I was really worried about the tide coming up!!...

@marcusdavid88 depends on the mic - best to experiment and see which provides the best results

@marcusdavid88 shotgun mics can be notoriously difficult to protect from wind noise using home made gear. You generally have to buy a pro blimp to get over it. But blimps can be limited in what they can do - if its really windy you may still have a wind noise issue.
Do it on a less windy day, or use a cardioid-based mic with one of my windjammers (MicCovers dot-co dot-uk) :o)

Rick! How do you turn the H2 on and off with your miccover? What if it accidently stops recording during a shoot?
JingchengZhao 9 months ago
@JingchengZhao you have to slip the cover on once it's started recording.
