This was the first truck I saw on the same exact day I filmed the Mammoth back in the summer. It's Chris on truck 36; an Amrep Octo front loader mounted on a Volvo LE chassis. You'll see him picking up garbage on the far east side of the Newport Heights area.

The first stop in the video is the start of a series of "late stops". Which is just down the street from Newport Harbor High School. There was road construction nearby in the area. In which that portion of his route was picked up as early as 6:30AM. All the stops you'll see for the first 7 minutes of the video are late stops. Afterward, there are a couple of shots of his normal route.

Comment, rate, etc.

Filming date: July 19th, 2011
Filming location: Newport Heights, Newport Beach, CA.
Camera used: Canon FS10

  • Awesome ! Amrep ! yay !! lol its always great to see one of these things in action and its still in really good condition !! so it should be around for a little while longer Have they gotten anymore trucks and did they like the mammoths ? And do you think they will buy an amrep or mammoth next ?

  • @100Burrtec100

Thanks! Sure is. They haven't gotten anymore trucks since the Mammoths almost 2 years ago. Likely Mammoths they will buy if they don't get contracted out.

  • Very nice footage dude!!

Collection day in the area is Tuesday. The southwest section of the area by Cliff Park is done by rear loader. While most of the rest of the area is done by front loaders. The alleyways off of Clay Street (between Santa Ana Avenue and Irvine Avenue) are done by random trucks at the end of the day.

  • @RainbowDisposal Every time I go, I always am 1 DAY off of collection. It really bugs me X(

But everytime I go, I always see two WM FLs in a trailer park.

  • @WMmaster626

Thanks. Yes, nice place indeed. And trucks. Have you ever been there on collection day before?

  • @AlliedWaste76

Thanks. Not sure what made them buy New Way either. Could be that they make both rear loaders and front loaders. The Newport Coast area has been contracted to CR&R for about 4 years now with automation. That's the more richer area. Yes Bruisers are a pain to find, especially in one piece. And yes, they do have a Condor Amrep: truck 32.

On camera, I guess it's quieter. In person it's pretty loud. Truck 33 is similar sounding to this one.

  • @RainbowDisposal Compared to truck 10 and a couple of the others you have filmed it seems less loud. I am 99% sure that the two that my grandparents have have the cover, yet those ones are at least 10 years old.
