Lockheed C-5 Galaxy

2004 Dover AFB Open House & Airshow
Dover AFB, Delaware
Sunday May 16, 2004

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as this C-5 Galaxy lands on Runway 1 at Dover AFB following the conclusion of the Sunday show at Dover.

Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

  • @xXxHuRr1cAn3xXx yeah, 1st time we saw one at an airshow, we were stunned at it's size.

  • lol no its not true at all they are just massive. looking at them from the outside in person will amaze you

  • @xXxHuRr1cAn3xXx So, is it true that every time the C-5 lands, something breaks on it? lol

My uncle worked on aircraft in the USAF for 11 years, and said he's never seen one land and not have something break on it, just because of how complicated they are.

  • @twoheadz73

I am no military aviation expert, but typically these planes have massive amounts of countermeasures.

  • 1 PROBLEM ,THAT THING IS A SITTING DUCK. HOW DO PILOTS AVOID ROCKET LAUNCHERS, I MEAN U COULDNT MISS. IM GUESSING THAT THIS THING IS A RISKY PLANE TO LAND BEHIND ENEMY LINES. PILOTS GOT TO HAVE BALLS

  • im a pilot for the USAF and i fly these all the time, the ride is so smooth. i fly AC-130's in iraq as well as the C-5 Galaxy, the cargo hold is crazy and theres a passenger hold behing the cockpit. beautiful aircraft...

  • These planes fly over my house all the time when landing in Dover. They usually turn right over our house to get into a landing approach. Love em'

  • Sweet!!! Those engines sound tough!

  • Wow, no reverse thrusters used?

  • nice sound ....
