Garden tours episode 1 part 2 - Permaganic Ecogarden Downtown Cincinnati

August 2011 we take a walk through the Eco Garden operated by Luke Ebner of Permaganic.

In 1998 the Eco Garden urban agricultural site began serving the Over-The-Rhine community by producing locally grown sustainable produce, for sale to the Cincinnati community--and meaningful, educational employment opportunities to urban youth.

Since August 2010, the Eco Garden has been nurtured by Permaganic, a grassroots non-profit striving to use art and gardening to grow urban habitats which are educational, empowering and enriching with under-served communities.

With the Eco Garden Youth Internship Program at the heart, Permaganic has expanded services to include: working in local schools to create gardens, horticultural therapy with developmentally disabled adults, and creating functional and beautiful community-oriented garden sites.

Visit Permaganic's Eco Garden produce stand Saturdays from 8 am to 1pm in the Findlay Market Local Farm Shed, and Smoothie Stand Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm at the Hyde Park Farmers' Market.
