Jazz Funeral of Anthony "Tuba Fats" Lacen, January 18, 2004 - New Orleans, LA just happened to be on my first trip to New Orleans and witnessed this incredible event. I had goose bumps on my arms the whole time. The pictures and videos do not do justice to the whole experience. We only witnessed a small part...when the funeral proceeded down Bourbon St. But it was an incredible experience nonetheless. Tuba Fats was obviously legendary in New Orleans. God bless Tuba Fats and especially the City of New Orleans.

  • I was at this second line, I had a blast dancing for about 2 hours straight. I don't like in NOLA but I love it.

  • 'Nawlins is the only Southern city I love. Culture, music, INCREDIBLE cooking (unlike Atlanta). Must-see place. In my top 5 cities in the world without question.

  • I hear you. I moved from ATL to Los Angeles and stopped in 'Nawlins and did not want to LEAVE. However, someone convinced me to do so (I had a 6 month old baby) and luckily I heeded their advice - Katrina hit that year :)

'Nawlins is the one place I tell everyone to go to. So much soul and rhythm.

  • That my husband Louis Harrison (Med. Man) Congo Nation White-Tee-Shirt Gold pant. At Tuba Fat funeral.

  • Wasn't he invited to Come to New Zealand,? but there was a last minute medical setback, and Robert Harris juniour came instead and sang and played his trombone beautifuly with us , the Dr Jaz band

  • i think for my funeral, i will add a stipulation to my will that my best friends and musicians "celebrate joyfully in public" (and of course, invite everyone else along)

  • LOrd i was there when i say it was something 4 ur eyes trust me it was

  • You don't see anything like this anywhere on this planet.........fantastic, what a way to go!
