Prof. Marcos Celesia has taught Translation and Interpretation in both the United States and his native Argentina. In this interview, Prof. Celesia explains in Spanish the qualities necessary to become a professional interpreter. He also talks about some misconceptions about interpreters and offers study advice for graduate students of interpretation.
thanks a lot. I am an American who has learned Portuguese. I've taken a first course in medical interpretation Portguese / English. Our professor emphasized also that many people think that any person with some knowledge of a language can interpret, and that that isn't true. Also the difference between the tasks iimplied by the names interpreter and translator. Anyway I found very many things interesting about your presentation. I guess you are speaking in my language 'C' ha ha.
