Here it is Lee, you asked me to make a video of me cleaning the tank, so here it is. I took video in between every step, it'll give you the idea though.

do you have to stir the sand all the time?

No, not this type, play sand is bad about getting dead spots and having to be stired often because it compacts. Stiring is easy though, just get a plastic spachula and run it around under the sand along the bottom, this will allow you to turn it without having to use your hand.

hey man your fish look great but i have a question is it easier to clean gravel or sand because im interested in getting sand.

It is about the same for me, it took a little getting used to, but I find the sand being a bit easier. Try it in a small (10 gallon) tank first and see how you do, then convert your larger tank.

How long after cleaning the tank can you turn on the filter?

when the water starts to clear up a bit, probably about a hour, make sure that there is water in the filter though to keep your bacteria alive.

Thanks, I used to remove them every week, now I remove them problably once a month, but still do weekly water changes.
