So now I know. When I was very young my first school was at Port Hedland in 1959. Whenever there were two girls wearing blue my teacher would sing this song. That school was my first introduction to country schools. There were 60 students then and most were Indigenous. I learned more about the Aboriginals in the two years that I was there than I have ever learned since. They used to have real corroborrees and lived in small camps just outside town. Glory days for me.
