Wow what a crappy idea for a movie. How come the 'other' earth always looks like that standard NASA image of the earth, and how come it keeps showing up in different parts of the sky, fully illuminated instead of showing phases. A giant sprinkley donut in the sky would be more realistic.

God, some people really don't have the right mind to appreciate this kind of thing. Seriously, commenters--it's science FICTION!! Stop pointing out flaws in the science of it, and instead try to focus on the ideas in it. You might actually learn something useful.

Its a great movie. If you expect science accuracy then stay home. This movie is really not a science fiction film. The minor parallel earth plot element is really just a cue for certain philosophical considerations that form the structure of the drama.
It is a very intense movie, but you should expect more drama and less scifi. Don't expect a in-depth treatment of the sci-fi themes.
