  • Only people with superficial inclinations would criticise the facial expressions of ANY musician. If you're in the concert hall, you would not see it in close-up as here. This almost seems to do the performer a disfavour, but that's the way it is, as no-one in their right mind would post a classical clip to point out how weird or ugly a musician looks while playing.

If I were a musician, I'd be like Prince, and not allow my music on here. All that freakin' bitching and responding to it too!

  • @AIORudge people don't do it to put on a show. That's the love of music showing.

  • Bach ... y el cello de Wispelwy ...es ingresar al Paraíso....!!!!

  • I prefer to open my ears! - And I find his interpretation both interesting and beautiful.

  • open your eyes people. can't you see how egotistical and 'empty' his interpretation is? i've hit 'dislike' WITH PRIDE

  • pieter wispelwey is by far the most overrated cellist of modern times, with the possible exception of maisky. pieter is a charlatan if i've ever seen one. why does he think he can do whatever he pleases with the music? phrasing-wise AND rhythmically. thumbs down me all you like, i don't care. pieter's playing is horrible. listen to ISSERLIS. or altstaedt.

  • @sharonboggi Peter Wispelwey

  • when i saw him playing in sydney a few years ago, i loved his facial expressions, it was like he was talking to the audience

  • @Bendixon311 It's a combo of concentration, showmanship, and passion which triggers his facial expressions.

  • Peter Wispelwey, I know now.

I find interesting that some folks were annoyed by his facial expressions. Did they every watch YoYo Ma?

  • WHO IS HE??
