In 1960, before containerships took over, Cargo was loaded piece by piece. Dutch crew supervises. Captain Bos of Dutch freighter Oldekerk shouts commands.Work continues till evening falls.

WOW..... How I missed those days. These workers they have loli (open lorry) to bring them from home to work. Most bring their lunches from home. They jump in to the loli before it even stop. There was a watter breaker barrier at the sea where Marina Sand now stood. Love those days.

wow, see those lao ah hia(old brother or dock worker) at the quayside. and then clifford pier, the good old ang ten beh tao (red lantern harbour). that was the old singapore.
