Southern Gospel reaches new people with this bluegrass version of a great song. I learned it by another name and so labeled it as such. This is from Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver's debut gospel album, 'Rock My Soul', which not only reached the traditional Southern Gospel fans but was a crossover to bluegrass and country fans also. It was released originally in 1981, then 1993, and then 2006. ENJOY!
The personnel:
Doyle Lawson - vocals, mandolin
Lou Reid - vocals, bass
Terry Baucom - vocals, banjo
Jimmy Haley - vocals, guitar
Including - Bobby Hicks
@kephartskutlery I grew up hearing Doyle Lawson, so I don't know other versions. I tried to find other versions but I am not sure how Mr. Golden wrote it. I found a version by JRShatzeline (this is his channel) and wondered if it is more like Mr. Golden wrote it. Everything Doyle does is 'professionally done'. He is a perfectionist. Thank you so much for your comment, but now you have my curiosity up. I want to hear a version true to the composer. Stop by anytime. My best, Moppet (Barbara)

Very professionally done, but you just can't beat the way Wm M. Golden wrote it.
