Nearly two years in the making, Sign Episode One Beginnings is inspired by the story in Metroid. The survivors of a planetary tragedy refuge to a small planet that is seemingly abandoned. The refugees must not only survive in a harsh climate but also against an unknown evil, lurking in the nearby mountains. Beginnings is the first in a trilogy of short animated films.

  • That was great. It may not have had the super- slick production value of the usual 'animated shorts' that everyone in the CG forums always gush about, but this one had something that is often lacking, and rare to find: an actual coherent story. This held my interest for the whole film, and some of the cinematic shots are well done (the reflections in the eyes for example..) I'd lose the obvious 'aliens' shot. But otherwise, keep improving your skills and develop your own style. Good Stuff :)
