homemade steam engine

v6 Steam engine; the latest version. Foward and reverse gears have been added. And the timing made more reliable. No hoses inside; drilled holes for steam to pass inside the main block. Runs on steam and compressed air. Almost no pressure needed to operate. Crankshaft is made out of one piece aluminum. Many of the parts were made on a c.n.c machine. Took 9 months to fabricate on spare time.

I think it would take huge solar panels to heat the water, too big to fit on or around a regular size house

actually the sound your hearing is the resonance of the one piece cranshaft and the gears. nothing to worry about:)

What drove the decision to puth the flywheel offset?

@BlakeMason2  The flywheel is offset because the crankshaft has four supports; can't put it in the middle.

Can you add an oil pump in the block?

Seems to have several friction surfaces

that need lubrication.

Its a great design. Looks viable for

automotive & marine use.
