I've been boating in that area surrounding Shell Island and St. Andrews Bay several times.
I don't think they dolphins are seeking a free meal, they are truly that sociable that they seek interaction with humans once they've watched you and determine you to be non-threatening.
I love going there.

We did this about a month back on a jet-ski tour. And it was absolutely amazing! There were a mother and baby coming up to us and looking for food. It was great.
