Can you find this redundant organ a home? This is the last concert on this instrument before possible organicide. Some Messiaen displays the wonderful tone colours of this wonderful 4 manual organ.

Links to further details about this organ otherwise to be scrapped are on the "more info" of the "Plea for Organs" video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MW1oOTiFoOk

As I filmed this, Messiaen transported me . . . and the inscriptions on the walls of this Church of Christ Scientist impressed me by their inclusion of all uncluttered by symbols which are barriers to others. One felt true christianity, but it's a shame that Christian Scientists get hung up on the dogma of refusing medical help. I'm sure that the great pianist accompaniest Richard Greenwood would still be alive today were he to have succombed to having medical treatment. But for many, the way of prayer is the cure of dis-ease and many would be happier were they to find faith to strengthen themselves so.

  • Please can someone inform as to where this treasure is located?

  • Hi! It was at the 11th Church of Christ Scientist in London but has been moved to a church in Wales at Abertillery where they have undergone a brilliantly imaginative scheme to incorporate the instrument in a massive renovation project of the church itself. They deserve great support and reward for rescuing the instrument!
