Not "trapped" in the odour - using visual or auditory stimuli to locate the bait. Interestingly 40% of crabs approaching the square pot across the current and thus not chemically stimulated were captured. All crabs moving directly up the funnel and into the pot restricted their horizontal search sector to less than 1/8 of the pots and never entered the plume. This suggests that visual or auditory stimuli may also attract crabs.

  • @depor23 yes, since they just need to grab the bait and climb out.

  • Is it possible for crabs to escape once they've crawled in? Rare circumstances?

  • alien on final lol

  • scary worm or something

  • Your pot needs to be about 3 times bigger. They should not be able to eat the bait before they have even been trapped.
