Mega Man 1 Special Weapons Only Challenge - Fire Man

Yeah, still stuck with the NES, but at least I can still put out videos. No voice commentary this time, just good old text. This time around, it's a self-imposed challenge on the very first Mega Man game. Run through as much of the game as possible using only special weapons; the polar opposite of the Buster run. I only allow myself Buster use against bosses, and even then, only when I have no other weapons to use.

Starting this show is, surprisingly enough, Fire Man. He and Guts Man were the only ones I could reliably pacifist run the stage of, and I'm not about to open this challenge with Super Arm. So that left the second-hardest Robot Master in the game, next to Elec Man, to Buster run at a handicap. Fire Man's damage is thankfully minimal, considering his attacks are extremely difficult to avoid. Even Ice Slasher doesn't help the case much.

I wasn't expecting to do as well as I did, and I walk away with Fire Storm and a one-up to spare.

when you pick up the health at 2:47 one of the flame thingies freezes temporarily.

does anyone know why?

To be honest, I always had full health, and literally just beasted it. As in, stood there, took the damage and shot him down, worked everytime XD

After watching these videos, I decided to try playing Mega Man 2 on my Wii using Virtual Console. I've been banging my head against the stages ever since. But, the game's fun. I just suck at it.  :P
