WOW. I hope you got that landlord in trouble! That's trespassing! Landlord or not, you're renting that place for yourself!

You have my sympathies. I had a landlord who did exactly the same thing. He lived across the road and he would come in 'to check the place was ok' when I went out, and he would harass me the moment I returned each evening. He would knock/rattle the letterbox and if I didn't answer within a minute or so, he would walk straight in. I eventually put a chain on the door to stop him, but he would stand banging on the door until I answered. It was a horrible experience.

if i caught my landlord in my apartment i would beat him like an intruder.

It looks like she's showing the place to either sell or rent to the next tenant.
As long as she gives you notice she's well within her rights to show the apartment.

When you move in to any rental property you have the right to change any and all locks and should do so . I always do . I return the original locks to the doors upon leaving and take mine with me .Takes only a few minutes , no special skills at all and gives me peace of mind .

@chronicreader was there an appointment for that? was the house-guest ready? common sense and proper etiquette says you make an appointment with your tenant. either you are in the forties or from the moon
WTF??? When property owners rent to people they are taking money in exchange for LEGAL RIGHTS of occupancy by the people they rent to including limiting their own access tothe property. Renters demanding the legal rights they are entitled to & have paid for is not "sticking thier chest out".
If you don't want people to have RIGHTS to your property then DON'T RENT your property out!!!
Sheesh!!!

I agree, a landlord is not supposed enter tenants property when the tenant is not at home.
