BECAUSE you are his son. God is your Heavenly Father. Does a newborn child earn the love of his parents? Truly, does a parents love ever wax dead cold towards his child? Never. We cannot earn our Fathers unconditional love anymore than a newborn or child can from his earthly parent. :) God Loves you dearly Bud, because you are His.

Thank you for this, I really appreciate your encouragement. It is something that I struggle with from time to time, especially when I'm down.

My relationship with my dad is not the best and never has been but I am learning in time that God is a much better Father than my dad is. He is just like the Father in the parable of the prodical son.

Yes, that is for those who cannot work themselves into God's favor as you explained Saul said he could have done if this was all according to the law. But it is not. God did not create us to follow a set of rules, He created us for Fellowship. Do you choose a bride just to cook, clean, and do your bidding? No, you choose a bride for fellowship. Why would Christ the Bridegroom do any less.
