Saw the same ones in Norway, 5 minutes after midnight, new years eve 2012. Two of them came REAL CLOSE and they were no balloons or candels I can tell you that for sure.

Am conflicted as to whether these are Chinese fire laterns (I hate those damn things, always confusing ufo reports, they should be banned) or the real deal.

@TheKageokami Yes they were moving fast for having only a slight breeze that was going east and they were moving south then east then south again. The video doesn't do it justice at all.
As the lights were moving towards us they were a beautful red and orange ball of light. You could see it was round and not a candle however it doesn't look that way in the video, it lost all the round shape and vibrant color. You had to see this for yourself live.

Saw these things 21st of march 2011, there where huge, and just stayed in one position, after 2 minuten they moved to eachother and started flashing all these different colors!
I caught it on tape, though I don't have a very good camera and everything looks rather small :(
But i;m not lying, vid is on my other youtube account I'll sent you if you like!
