Our 3 year old daughter doing an All Saint's Day presentation.
When St. Barbara was a little girl, her "bad daddy" (as my daughter says)locked her in a high tower. So Barbara lived in the tower with only the servants who cared for her. And she was very good. One day a priest passed under her tower. He was singing about Jesus Christ. Barbara heard him. She asked him about Jesus. He told her all about the Savior. Barbara became a Christian.
When her father heard this, he was angry. It was against the law, in those days, to love Jesus or to be a Christian. So this "bad daddy" dragged his own daughter to the judge. "My daughter is a Christian," he cried. "She is not my daughter any longer." "What shall we do with her?" the judge asked. For he saw that Barbara was good and pure. "Do what the law orders," her father shouted. "Beat her until she is almost dead. Then chop off her head." (My daughter says the soldiers cut off her thingy- pointing to her neck)
So the soldiers carried out that cruel order. But suddenly they saw angels coming. The angels carried the soul of Barbara to heaven. Then lightning struck her cruel father and killed him where he stood. Her Feast is December 4th.
I am sorry but the but I could not understan the little girl. She was very cute but she should have been a little older. There was in my opinion too much infases on the little girl and not enough on Saint Barbara.

It's all about teaching our children to love the saints who give us examples in which to live by. I'm sure St. Barbara was pleased with the effort and love our little girl put into portraying her.

Yes you are absolutley right. I also think Saint Barbara was very pleased with her mother for helping your little girl with what she did. I would also like to appologize for the way I said what I said. I didn't mean to say anything negative about you or you dear little child. I pray and hope that you will forgive me and both of you will grow in the perfect love of Almight God. May God bless you and be with you now and always.

Don't worry - there's nothing to forgive. We put the video on youtube for the family to see, and to encourage others to celebrate All Saint's Day. I know it was hard to understand Madeline, which is why I was trying to repeat everything she said. Thank you for your comments. It's nice to know people care enough to watch! God bless you.
