  • I'd say, wait down to the wire, say, like, one minute left. (Something could happen within those 15 minutes.) But if nothing had happened in that time, press the button, no matter which boat I'm on. Yes, it's killing people, but if it were 100% sure that both boats would be blown up if neither did anything, you can at least save half the people by killing the other half. Yes, it's cruel, but it allows the potential to save the most people.

  • Honestly, I'd be thinking that civilians are worth more than criminals in my head, but I don't think I could actually push the button.

  • I couldn't blow the other boat up myself. I'd rather die instead of living with the fact that I'm a murderer.

  • iwould blow them up because they may have some inocent people on there but yours has children on it and such that have not even exsperanced life yet and if i was the other i would not do it because i lost alot of rights when i committed my crime and it the least i can do to repay sasiaty

  • I would blow shit up.

  • I'd start shooting with no justification. I am sadly geared for fight/flight which is instinctual. Morality is not in issue when it comes to survival.

  • @TheSoulOfTheBard It's probably safe to assume that an explosion of sufficient magnitude to destroy the ship would also be lethal to anyone within jumping distance. These psychopaths clearly went to a lot of trouble. Also they would probably wise up to your plan when they saw everyone lining up along the edge. Experiments need to be observed, or they are pointless. That's not even accounting for the obvious reality that at least a couple of criminals would get to the button first.

  • Assuming the ships had equal numbers of people, I would push the button instantly. If one ship has to be blown, why not the other one? Plus I could spare the hand-wringing types the burden of conscience. Given that criminals tend to be self-serving, even a slight delay would almost certainly be fatal. Also the criminals, if they survived, would only have prison to look forward to. You're welcome, ship. Once again I save the day, and I bet I get crap for it.

  • My response would be the same no matter what boat I'm on- Find the detonator, don't let anyone near it, noone touches it till they get past me

  • Oh my God, this is my favorite movie.
