engl powerball ch.3

this is a clip with my engl powerball, engl pro cab, esp/ltd f400fm guitar, mxr eq(just to boost the mids).

i just want to show you how an engl powerball could sound like.

this is not a demonstration of my guitar skillz...

I play dropped c tuning, the song i´ve played is an idea, perhaps I play it with my band...

I have recorded with a shure sm58 in 4m distance, to capture the "real" rehearsal sound.

i think, the settings are. gain @ 10 o´clock, low bottom off, lows@11 o´clock, mids@2 o´clock, highs @ 3o´clock, focused mode on, depth@12 o´clock, presence@2 o´clock.

in the loop of the amp is a mxr 10 eq, that boosts the high mids and the lows a little.

but now i play a different setting and the engl got new tubes for the preamp and the amp section, perhaps i made another video with the new settings, sound now more clear, and with more high mids...

i have never played or seen a better amp than a powerball. Even with my shitty $250 4x12 marshall cab (Engl amps have been reported to sound terrible with marshall tuned speakers) it sounds INCREDIBLE. I cant wait to get an Engl cab and to hear what this thing actually sounds like. even with my shitty cab, it sounds better than my friends peavy 6505+ with his mesa boogie cab

Nah the deathcore bands use them because peavey pays their label to endorse them. This would sound better on stage

6505+ def has the best distortion of any tube amp, thats why you see all the deathcore bands using them...the cleans suck terribly on it tho, the engl powerball has great cleans, leads, and its distortion channel kicks ass too, but if you just going for distortion go 4 the 6505+, its also cheaper.
