@hydrolito No Nicole's char. (Marisa Coulter) is not at all similar to the White Witch the only similarity wood be that they r both fem. villains and Coulter is only a villain in the 1st 2 books also the white witch represents satanic beings in narnia and polar bears didnt drive the witches chariot in the book and narnia isnt another dimension its just a magical world in his dark materials the children travel to multiple other dimensions also narnia has way more then just the 1 heroine lucy

@TheGIRROX Similarity both had polar bears. As polar bears pulled witches chariot in Narnia film version anyway, both had talking animals, Animal hero the lion in one and polar bear in other. Both had alternate dimensions, had girl as heroine I think in both, other dimension more primative in some ways traveled in chariots yet could turn people and creatures into stone. Witch is villian in Narnia and I think Nicole Kidman plays a similar character in Compass.

You could say the Wizard of Oz was Atheists also as the Wizard could represent God, The curtain could represent the current in the temple to the Holy of Holy, the holographic image and (3d?) green glasses to see (holographic?) flaming head of Wizard would be similar to Biblical burning bush. But then Wizard is revealed as a phony and not magical at all, which could be said about god when people plundered Solomon's Temple and no god was found there.

values down childrens throats however this is also not true as the books r 4 preteens and upward and also the atheism unlike the christianity in Narnia isnt concealed in anyway the books coodnt be less subtle about ther atheist values and the author has said that they r atheist many times

@hydrolito he h8s Narnia becuz it decevingly pours christianity down the throats of young children and actually Narnia and His Dark Materials only similarity is children and talking animals in Goldne compass ther r alternate universes the main char lives in a dimension mor advanced then ours in some ways and less so in others in the 2nd book the subtle knife she meets a boy who is from our dimension and planet many ppl say his dark materials decevingly pours atheist cont.
