Oh and for what it's worth, Giant is THE largest bike company on the planet. They make frames for almost every bike company, including some of the lower end Treks. My "pure" road bike is a Trek. Gods I need to quit smoking..(again)...and get back on the bike. Between you, a coworker and my inner demons...the signs are there..
Gunner? Holy crap, nice. I have a Surly Cross-Check that I built myself into a commuter. Get the rear rack and some bags, you'll hate to add the weight but if you're commuting, convenience outweighs speed. Weight only hurts when climbing anyway. I have what I think is the same saddle sitting around here. You may want to consider a Brooks leather saddle, I have one on the Surly. They take time to break in and look a bit outdated, but trust me your ass will thank you! ;) Congrats man!
Im so buying a Gunnar..im saving up for a gunnar roadie with sram force!
Michael, you should totally buy clipless pedals! its much safer.
