Birdman of Alcatraz by Rick Wakeman - Perf'd by Chris Huebner

This is a different version than the one I posted previously. Not only played on a real piano, but a new arrangement. I love this piece and I'm never 100% satisfied with my performances of it. I'll probably have a third version sometime in the future :-). This piece is from Rick's Criminal Record album. There are also a couple of live performances of out out there. His live performances are what inspired this version.

Sorry for the less-than-ideal audio quality. I'm using an old Shure vocal mic, through a low-to-high impedance transformer, then to the audio input on my handicam. I end up with only the left side of a stereo recording. I then tried to clean it up a little, convert it to mono and get rid of some of the hiss. Well, it is what it is.

Great job! I love this piece...did you transcribe it? If so...did you notate it? Excellent playing...the sound quality is actually pretty good. Have you heard of the KAWAI PR1 recorder? It is a relatively inexpensive recorder that has a professional recorded sound.

@memsermann Thank you. I learned it by ear. The first version I posted was a little more of the studio version, but this is a little more like he does it live. I'm recording through a shure mic into my sony dvd camcorder. I'll have to check out the PR1
