Bob Dylan didn't introduce them into it!! He was just in the room and someone else did it.

know exactly what you mean with the lennon part...a lot of things the beatles did seemed like a response to dylan, dylan did the same with them but they always took it a lot farther it seemed or something, like they took themselves a little too seriously at times

I actually think Dylan is quite clever. He's not my flavor of music but I admit his talent. I still however think the Beatles were 10x better before Lennon got all into him.

dude I hope youre not implying that Dylan sucks or something. The only reason Bob influenced them enough to write those type of songs was because the beatles influenced Bob to take up rock again(after growing up as a youth with elvis/little richard/etc) and to write rock music with deeper meaning. it's not hi fault he spurred a bunch of mimics

But I have to admit that punk became a terrible cliche too. Now it all sounds like hardcore crap and no one wants to sound brilliant like the Clash anymore. I am done ranting. For now.

It's funny I should stumble on this video. This is actually what I consider to be the worst event to ever happen to rock music. 50's rock was great. Then rock kind of faded away, which sucks, but then the Beatles were bringing rock back with an English charm and rock was fantastic again. Then....they met THIS GUY. And suddenly started writing songs that just plod along and suck. And then EVERYONE starting writing rock that just sucks. Then punk saved the day in the 70's.

Funny. Most people who were there in the 60's make light of it...if they can remember it.
