  • @zsloaf they haV i got a 09 but power is not its forte

  • I can only do it in 1st

  • i had to work on one of these bikes a few years back and when i took it out for a ride i was shocked how much this bike lacked in power compared to other 650s i have ridden, atleast an xr650 ,just a twist of the throttle and that bike will stand straight upthe klr waslike someone stuffed a 4 cylinder engine in a monster truck ,far to heavy and underpowered hopefully they have improved on newer models

  • @bearhamo

yeh man, technique is what will work raw power will just get you in trouble.

  • @mcfear1991 I had an XL 250 20 years ago too. Easy to wheelie. Just gotta know how.

  • @bearhamo haha nice comment,

however i owned a 250 and then a 650 and could bounce both up onto the back wheel with ease.

@58781icky it just takes the right technique, sit it in the power band, lean back chop off the throttle which will compress the forks, then lean back pull on the bars and nail the power all at the same time. give that a shot. its what worked for me on both my KLR's.

My DR650 is alot easier to wheely though. can get it up at 100km/h with no clutch or downchange :D

  • @58781icky The cure is 400 more cc's. =)

  • Nice!! Just wanting to know how do you stop the oil from coming out of the overflow pipe when doing long wheelies? I just found my back tyre covered in oil after a long wheelie,I have installed the MB pcv mod and was sure this would help stop this...

  • Nice Trying get my KLR 250 to do them but the shocks are so soft I have to stand on back pegs and bounce it up in 1st and then clutch and bounce in second gear
