@Melissaamorx I'm happy for you, truly, but that in itself confuses me. For every way in which I've changed, there are at least 10 in which I haven't. People are fascinating.

I wish this character was real so I could just walk over and give her a hug. I've never seen the movie, but this strikes a chord with me. While I understand only too well, I'm not just going to sit back and allow myself to be buried in a tomb of my own making. I made a promise, dammit, and it's one I intend to keep.

I recognise this post is 3 years old, but... your decision to hold parts of yourself back is just that, a decision. While I completely understand why you make it, at the same time, nothing is set in stone.
