Basic 1.5 min talk on how it works, taken from a larger film which was used to educate GE employees on welding correctly. Irving Langmuir from General Electric invented atomic hydrogen welding. the video has diagrams and is produced by the Edison Tech Center (the new name of the Edison Exploratorium)

  • LOL...out of all the videos I have seen thus far about arc welding, this 1950's demonstration is the most educational. The close up of the arc is fantastic compared to other blindingly bright videos. The animation also helped me understand the chemical/physical process which occurs during arc welding. Great find on the video and thank you for sharing.

  • awesome demonstration.... and when was this made 1950?, thank you i rest my case
