This is for all the people who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Being a year ago since the storm passed over the southern states leaving so much damage and many people hurting. The song is by Ray Boltz and its called "The Anchor Holds". Our Anchor, Jesus Christ, still holds no matter what happens He is in control. Even though things were destoryed Jesus was always there in control.
Being a victim of the hurricane my self it really means alot to know my Anchor, Jesus Christ, is still holding now and is a firm foundation. We was out of power for almost 2-3 weeks, no water for about 10 days. Being a firefighter we was cutting trees, passing out bags of ice, cases of water, and also MREs. Made me really stop and think I had nothing but what I had to give I did and that was myself. We look at also as Christ gave Himself to save me from my sins. I can give some back.
I also noticed I mispelled Hurricane in the opening slide I am sorry.
i live thought it some people did not have a way to got. why did not government them to get out

Why didn't you just leave? The Government would have eventually found you........To mail you your welfare checks! There were dozens of buses being used to evacuate people.....So sad Tyrone the thug wasn't on one of them. A hurricane doesn't care what color you are. It is sad about grandma.

God killed many more things than babies, thousands of people died and homes and ways of life were destroyed but everyone at least could have comfort in the knowledge that it was for a purpose that we may never know but was for reasons greater than us

God killed babies with Katrina. Your God is a mean son of a bitch! Humans didn't do this - even INSURANCE COMPANIES call this an "act of God" !!

thank you, cottenboystw! for putting others b4 yourself. you have a spot reserved for you in heaven. my brother-in-law lost his house in bay at. louis, his 2 sons slso lost their homes. one in bay st. louis, the other one is a gulfport police officer. my nephew in lakeview[N.O.]also lost his home.i still have a hard time believing the extent of the storm, even though i witnessed a lot of the damage first hand. i hope god has blessed you in your recovery from the storm.

I had breakfast in that Waffle House on Sunday the week before the storm and shopped in the Wal-Mart afterwards. I hadn't seen any pictures of that area and hadn't been back as I am from New Orleans and had my own issues to deal with. There's always a new story, new picture and another person whom I meet from time to time. I do remind myself from time to time and we must all remember what happend there.
