in the nba, they are allowed to step 2x before dribbling the ball. I dont know if its applied here in the phil.

@fjaniceto9 what all the others said, plus, you're allowed to take as many steps between dribbles as long as your dribble is active and not carried. Hence, the stutter step.

@fjaniceto9 not a carry or double dribble, to be a double dribble we would have had to pick up the ball and then put it down again (which he doesn't)
To be a carry he would have to put his hand under the ball AND then dribble again, which he doesn't.
