Before you embrace atheism as some kind of non malevolent construct I would urge you to research atheist societies of the past & present who persecuted and killed non atheist. Stalin slaughtered 20 million out of the 90+ million who died during the secular non religious wars of the 20th century. In contrast 2000 were executed during the 300 hundred year Spanish inquisition.

Again these 20th century wars were waged by mans doctrines e.g. Communism , Fascism, Nazism etc not by religion.

Love thy enemy. He who is without sin cast the fist stone. Turn the other cheek. Did you ever read these passages. I just read a thread by another atheist who said that atheist who quote mine out of context are making all atheist look ignorant.

What you have left out is that it was actually Christians who were considered atheist & killed in the millions by Romans because they didn't believe in Polytheism. @benthemiester they are practicing christians, like I said, they believe that they can pray for forgiveness, so they can get away with doing harm to others. second morality is an evolutionary trait, we try to define it as something unique to us, but it can be found even in chimpanzees, Morality is just a word, to define behavior that is beneficial to our society as a whole, and I am referring to it, from that point of view. morality being behaviors that help the survival of our species.
