December 15th, 2011...

"A great disturbance in the Force...as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. Something terrible has happened..."

This game was part of my life for 5 years, I lived great adventures, met great people when I was kinda depressed, and despite what it became at the end I'll be with a heavy heart forever.

All my apologies about the freaking fps loss, I never seeked to make a movie until the game was about to close and I used xfire. Bah.

Please take a look at my SWG playlist.

Thanks a lot for watching, commenting, ans testimoning.

Take care everyone.

  • When I was playing Galaxies many many years ago, I didnt realize the freedom and great game concept that was behind it. Now, after I tried out Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR) I realize that Galaxies had so many aspects that were better. I would set up a new Char on any Galaxies server instead of continuing SWTOR because the new game is boring, and I played until level 30 but what then? I cant buy a house, cant discover the planets like once in Galaxies because its all limited!!

  • @mrprodigy83

SWG was almost like living a second life, SWTOR is like playing KoTOR that have new features.

  • I swear I cried when I watched this.

    RIP SWG

and... have a merry Wookie life day... and a galactic new year. /salute

    Likewise. Take care.

  • I wish this became free to play.

  • I wish I had played more of Galaxies, I would always talk smack about it but it was my favorite game in the world. I miss you dearly. Goodnight, sweet prince.

(On another topic, who else is going onto an emulator server now?)

  • The deathstar destroyed planets

    SOE destroyed Galaxies

  • SWG brought a great bunch of people together in our guild.... Akira... but thanks to SWTOR we've found more than I would expected again than even play in the WoW version of the guild. It was because of SWG we have a guild member who sent a copy overseas to a foreign member who can't buy the game locally so that they could play with us again. Thank you for that SWTOR.... but we all reminisce about SWG often....before the NGE... before the darkside fell upon SOE.

  • It's sad I never knew about this game. So sad it ended... :[

I bought ToR and was VERY dissappointed with it. Wish I could have a refund :/

  • what made bio ware to do this i played this every frecken day and it dieds

    RIP SWG :(...........

  • @tma579 My main was Barriemore Owen he was in a guild called Skulls, Mayor of Fort Insurrection, after i left as mayor a guy named Zunarn took over for a while and then a guy called Grungy. Ironically i was there when the town was founded and i was there up the the day Naritus was shut down.

  • @MilitiaHQ What was your name on Naritus? I was Fingolfin from -IX- . WE miss the rebels man. FIghting the rebs were the best memories i had in any MMO.

  • I still blame myself for this shutting down...

    8 different free trials!

...i could never afford the real deal!

  • It looks like the town i built on Dantooine when Naritus server was up and running, i remember the lakeside was prime real estate, had a lot of good times and memorys operating out of Dantooine. Very sad how this game was something very special in the beginning and then they ripped the guts out of it, despite the fact the Imps creamed us nearly everytime we formed the rebel alliance on our planet and one day raped the Imps with 3 armys consisting of 400 rebels... Epic!
