Here is super fast C-mount TV zoom lens specially modified for use on Micro Four Thirds Panasonic GH2.

The Pentax 8-48mm f1.0 vignettes on the Micro Four Thirds sensor so you must use ETC/zoom mode on the GH2 for video use. 8-48mm becomes 40-250 35mm equivilent.

This lens was purchased new from B&H Photo: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/341297-REG/Pentax_C60812_C60812_8mm_to_...

A 55mm to 62mm adapter has been screwed onto the front threads so an existing Lumix lens cap can be used. Use low ISO. The lower the number the less noise there will be because the ETC mode zooms in 2.6 times.

  • couple questions , what was the hack or mod to make this lens work? also hows sensor coverage, does it cover the full sensor? And as others said , cant wait to see some sample footage.

  • @Ebacherville for coverage, what I mean is do see the edge of coverage when your in telephoto at all? any vignetting?

  • @Ebacherville No vignetting at all. The only issue is in very low light it can have grain but that can be fixed in post.

  • @Ebacherville No hack or mod that I know of other than machining the lens a bit so it fits onto the adapter. It doesn't cover the full sensor but if you use the Telezoom function on the Panasonic it fits. I shot a wedding almost entirely on this lens. Marci + Tyler. I think It came out great, other than in the very low light scenes at the end I had to apply a noise reduction filter.

  • where'd you get that adapter for the mic?

  • @R2FilmProductions

I got if from Amazon. I did have to take a razor blade and carve away some of the plastic so it would fit all the way in but it wasn't too hard.

  • f/1 does that compare to an f/1 on a dslr?

  • Fuck you dude.

would be better if madea video for this lens. and did not really show the mechanics of the lens itself.

  • Thanks for the video upload!

  • @anthonyrfung Yes. I just shot a wedding with it. It's very good. It can get a little noisy in poor lighting (a reception lit only by Christmas light) but a de-noising plugin (i like Neat Video $99) can smooth that out.
