Went on a Bowfishing trip on the delta. Checked out the new carp deck and its working out nicely. Got in to some carp and had a great day.Carp can be very harmful to other types of freshwater fish. They may feed on the oxygen-producing vegetation in a body of water, thus making it difficult for other species to live there. In areas that are distant from the sea, carp may be the most common fish eaten Nice Carp Common carp or EUROPEAN carp Cyprinus carpio is a widespread freshwater fish related to the common goldfish Carassius auratus, with which it is capable of interbreeding[1]. It gives its name to the carp family Cyprinidae. Common carp are native to Asia and Eastern Europe. It has been introduced into environments worldwide. It can grow to a maximum length of 5 feet (1.5 meters), a maximum weight of over 80lb (37.3 kg), and an oldest recorded age of at least 65 years. The wild, non-domesticated, forms tend to be much less stocky at around 20% - 33% the maximum size. Koi nishikigoi in Japanese, lĭ yú in Chinese is a domesticated ornamental variety that originated in China but became known to the Western world through Japan.

  • Has anyone ever tried to use the Matthew's Genesis? I have recently bought one and rigged it up for bowfishing. Just curious and wanted to know.

  • Good Shot! Like that carp deck, is it home made or store bought? I catch and release commons (unless the water is really clean and somebody wants to cook one) - but have no problem with how others choose to get it done. If I get into some grassies, might have a go at them with the PSE kingfisher - illegal to release them in my neck of the woods, and plenty of folks I know can cook them up right. Also, noticed carp was kept - cooked up or used for bait? Nice work on the vid.
