In the mid 1990s, after bad weather and high tides, a large scale impovement to the sea defences along a stretch of the Lincolnshire Coast was undertaken. At Anderby Creek this involved transporting, by lorry, large rocks from Derbyshire and others brought by sea from the Continent. After this, a process of beach renourishment followed, it involved getting sand from the seabed, about 10 miles of shore. This sand was then pumped onto the beach. The upkeep of this venture still continues to date.
