Traveling Hwy 5 to or from Oregon, majestic 14,162 foot Mt Shasta has always been an unmistakable landmark. Word is getting out that the area surrounding Mt Shasta is Americas next great recreational hot spot. This giant of a mountain soars up more than two miles from the conifer forested plains surrounding it. Four small communities surrounding Mt Shasta are located as close as 10 miles from the summit, which literally blocks the sky! Very few of the hundreds of thousands of people passing through actually know about the attractions and wonders found in this little-known area.
