Janos Starker (1924) and Wolfgang Schneiderhan (1915-2002) are soloists in this 1962 recording of the first movement (part 1) of the Brahms double concerto for violin and cello in A minor, Op. 102. Ferenc Fricsay (1914-1963) leads the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. I created this video from the LP shown above, one of three discs (manufactured by Deutsche Grammophon) in a collection distributed in 1983 by the Book of the Month Club to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer. The serial number of this collection is 90-3733.
