doing it myself it cost about $1000

Why would you ever swap a 3vz into such a sexy car. Even die-hard Toyota fans will tell you the 3.0 makes a better boat anchor than an engine.

was up bro i used to live off garden highway back in the day when i was going to uti... thats a nice sounding 3vzfe... i was thinking of doing the same swap in my 93 celica but backed out till i buy an mr2... id prefer that engine in a rwd car.. ur car would be fun to drive where i now live in the santa cruz mountains..

so wait you took the 5 speed from you mr2 na and hooked yourr 3vzfe to it and that worked?? I have a 91 na mr2 and a 93 lexus es300 tryin to do this

@edshift: I need to drive my mr2 again. (it's SORNed on my drive right now) But from memory this doesn't look too much faster than a 3s-ge in good health.

I know the V6 would pull better from there but it's not an OMG moment for me.

But I may have lost perspective.

It's been a while since I drove it.

I'm still very tempted by the V6 mr2 mod tho.

It's still the best car I've ever owned.
