Kenya Draft Constitution proposes power balance between PM and President

he proposed draft constitution scheduled for publishing this week is promising to radically alter governance in Kenya. Its no doubt that Kenyans are looking forward to a referendum next year that will mark the country's much hyped up constitutional change. The proposed new constitution will see the light of the day only if a majority of Kenyans voted in its favor than witnessed in 2005 when the then proposed constitution suffered a massive rejection. The country's constitution has been the center of politics and there is likelihood that there could be a repeat of what happened in 2005 which also determines the mood of the country as we approach the general election in 2012.
