Sometimes, in the depth of the night...
you can hear them groan as if they were having bad dreams. A good house craddles and comforts. a Bad house fills us with instinctive unease. Bad houses hate our warmth, our Humaness. That blind hate of humanity is what we mean when we use the word, "haunted" A house is a place of shelter. It's the body we put on over our bodies. As our bodies grow old, so do our houses. As our bodies may sicken, so do our houses sicken. And what of madness? If mad people live within, Doesn't this madness creep into the rooms, walls and corridors? Don't we sometimes sense that madness reaching out to us? Isn't that a large part of what we mean when we say a place is unquiet? Festered up with spirits? We say "haunted," But we mean the house has gone insane...

That house looks like the house down the street from my house. Everytime we drive by it it gives me the creeps cause it feels like it's looking back at you.

i live right by the house they used in the movie . its in tilicum wa ' about an 1/2 hr away from seattle' its used for bed and breakfast and for gatherings such as weddings and so on.

@kimiso159 The real Rose Red as in image and appeareance is the Thornewood Castle wich is a beautiful Inn with no reports of hauntings. Just the front building and garden exist. Rose Red was written by Stephen King and it was based in the Winchester Mistery House in California, that's like the spiritual "real" Rose Red. Before the release of the miniseries they made a mockumentary for publicity, that's why many people think Rose Red is real. They also released novels that were "non fiction".

Okay so im confused one person says the house is there and the story is all true and the other person says it is fiction and that Stephen King made it all up.... Help me please i feel im wasting my time trying to research answers here.... =S
