You could try rescue kennels....x

Owning dogs isn't experience. Get yourself into dog kennels for the experience. Currently walk dogs for Asissi and going to see if they want any proper volunteers. Sent my application off today, first joice is RAVC. Don't care how long it takes to get in, I'm going to wait because it's all I want to do! P.s there's a back log of online applications so apply at the careers office if you can

Nice collection of photos, old and new. I was a dog trainer in the Vet corps for nine years from 1965 to 1974 working guard, tracker and explosive detection dogs in Europe, Middle East and Far East.
Best job I have ever had, went on to training and working detection dogs in Australia, gave me the best grounding in dog training and handling so if that is what you want, then go for it! best Corps in the British Army

Great video, thank you for taking the time to do this, am currently looking into joining the army as a dog handler, grown up with dogs all my life, its what am good at. Is there any more information you could give about the selection process into RAVC, thank you for the time :)

So am I, most kennels don't take on under 18s because of insurance. So now I'm going to obidience classes to help out and that- it'll do my application no harm..

like i said before boys, "I own my own pet staffy" or "I work at the RSPCA" will not be enough. The selection board has heard it all before. A good run time won't mean shit either. Your man there hit it on the head, they want something extra! aqnd ya'll thought it was just walking spaniels dint ya........

yeah this guy has got it just about right.....altho im finding it hard to get kennel experiance (wich is probs a benefit).

Yeah Im going to do that. What experience do you have with dogs? How old are you?
The only reason that I can think they didn't accept me was my lack of experience working with dogs- at like kennels ect. And I'm only 17 so they were abit iffy about that but apart from that I did well. 34/38 on the memory theory test, run time 9:21, 51 press ups and 61 sit ups.
Still, fucking gutted.

dont be mate, its just a setback. you will get it dont wory.
see im 20, and i have quite alot of experiance looking after dogs - staffs and retrivers in particular - so hopefully they will accept me. its not even the amount of experiance that you have - you have to show a general understanding of dogs and the role that corps plays in the army - maybee thats what you need to work on budd :)
